Pretty and Polished Hello Dolly

Morning folks!

I have a really quick post for you this morning showcasing a wonderful polish made by Chels of Pretty and Polished! Here is Hello Dolly!

Hello Dolly is a clear jelly base packed with white, pink, and lavender hexagon glitters and tiny pink prism glitters that give it its beautiful holographic shine! You can see some of the shine in the above picture, it was gorgeous! I have layered it over 1 coat of Essie's Marshmallow.

This polish screams girly girl to me and I absolutely love it!! I had to fish a little bit to get the big pieces of glitter onto my nail, but nothing crazy.

Hello Dolly has endless layering combinations and I'm really excited to try out more!
It can be purchased for $8.50 for a 15mL full size bottle or $4.75 for a 7mL mini bottle from Chels's Etsy shop. She is currently in vacation mode, but it looks like she will be back with a re-stock next Wednesday! You can sign up for an email notice for when she returns to her shop.

What do you think of my combination here?

I hope you are all having a great Friday and have awesome weekend plans! I am off to a wedding in Ottawa and I can't wait!!! Have a great day ladies :)

Pretty and Polished Valentino and Dollish Polish Team Salvatore

Morning! I hope everyone is having a good Monday morning. I am on my last week of work! Only 5 more days then I get to pack all my stuff up and move back to Waterloo for school for the summer.
Today I have two indie polishes to show you. Last week I got some pretty epic nail mail! A package from Pretty and Polished and Dollish Polish all in one day! As soon as I got the mail I had to use some of them immediately. I picked Valentino and Team Salvatore, as I think these were my two biggest lemmings in the packages.

I started with two coats of Joe Fresh's Apple and a coat of China Glaze White on White on my ring finger. Apple was surprisingly a jelly creme finish, it was beautifully squishy but still opaque in 2 coats. Although this bad boy stains hard. When I took it all my nails are now stained red except for my ring fingers, and I used a coat of OPI's Start to Finish base coat, which has never given me a problem with staining before. For sure double up on base coat if you use this. Then I used Valentino on all but my accent nail, which I used Team Salvatore.

My only issue with this manicure is that I was so excited to put on these polishes that I wanted to wear two coats of Valentino and Team Salvatore. Next time I wear these I will probably only use one coat so that the glitter is a little more sparse on the nail.

I'm totally in love with both of these polishes. They are gorgeous and I am so on the black and white glitter bandwagon.

I love the black and white glitter over red, and Team Salvatore is such an awesome accent to this!

Pretty and Polished can be purchased from Chelsea's Etsy shop. A full size 15mL bottle is $8.50 and a mini 7mL bottle is $4.75. She is not currently stocked with anything, however rumour has it she will be restocking this Wednesday night. You can sign up for an email notification for when she returns to her shop, or follow her on Twitter or Facebook where she will announce shop openings.
Dollish Polish is now on Big Cartel and she will no longer be announcing her shop openings due to the mad rush so check her shop every now and then to see what she has in stock! Her full size bottles are either $8.75 or $9.50 depending on what ingredients are used and the mini bottles are $4.50.

What do you think of the black and white glitter trend? Do you own any of these? What is your favourite Black and White glitter out there?

Pretty and Polished Swing

Good Morning! and Happy Friday!

I have today off and am scheduling this post, so I will be probably still be curled up in bed sound asleep :) I am really excited for a 4 day weekend, which also means I will be painting my nails like a madman woohoo!

Today I have Pretty and Polished Swing to show you. Although I didn't just swatch it. I did the syrup gradient technique on this polish. When I first saw the syrup technique on Pinterest I knew that I had to do it with Swing. The name of the polish is in reference to swing dance music, which was really popular in the 30's through 50's. Swing is a red jelly polish that tends to look a little more on the pink side. There are black, white and silver pieces of glitter throughout the jelly, which when applied regularly looks just like a jelly sandwich in a bottle.

You can see that I didn't manage to get very many pieces of the larger glitter on my nails. I was in a bit of a rush when I was doing this and didn't fish out for the pieces of big glitter. I debated even showing you guys this because it doesn't really showcase how cool the polish is, but I do really like the syrup effect!

I like how my nails look like they are dripping in squishy jelly gorgeousness. It makes me so happy :) Plus the black glitter is to die for. Who doesn't just love black glitter?

Swing can be purchased from Pretty and Polished's etsy shop for $4.75 for a 7mL mini bottle or $8.50 for a full sized 15mL bottle. Chels is currently sold out of Swing, she completely restocked 2 nights ago and is essentially almost sold out of everything. Indie polishes have taken the nail world by storm recently. The next time she restocks I would HIGHLY recommend you pick this beauty up. She generally announces on her Facebook and Twitter when she will be restocking, so essentially just stalk her a little and you'll find out a time when she will be open. OH she also ships to Canada for the very reasonable price of $4.50!

What do you think of Swing? Or my syrup gradient?

Sincerely Stephanie
