Goooooood Morning lovelies!
Today is my 22nd birthday! I'm really excited, but still have no idea what my birthday/new years nails will be. I plan on spending some time on them later this afternoon, but I did some pretty cool new years-esque nails a few days ago so I thought I would share while I contemplate what to do!
I started with GOSH Holographic Hero on my index and ring nails. Then added a zebra stamp using MASH-41 and Born Pretty Store Black Stamping Polish. I really liked the opacity of this stamping polish and it wasn't too hard to clean up. It will be my go to black stamping polish for sure now.
On my pinky and thumb I did 3 coats of Harlow & Co. Misfits. I actually forgot I owned this polish until I hauled it out to do my sisters nails, so I was feeling the need to use it lol. On my middle nail I did two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales The Walls and then went a little crazy adding 3mm clear rhinestones, 1mm black and clear rhinestones and these studs from Born Pretty Store.
I got a new camera for Christmas and I'm still trying to work with it to best improve my photos, so please forgive me for the next little while, all my photos might not be under the same lighting while I try to sort it out! Here's one with flash to show you some holo goodness :)
What do you think of my fun zebra and rhinestoned nails? I realized that in my over a year of blogging this was the first time I ever did zebra print! Can you believe it?! I was actually a little shocked. You can grab the stamping polish or studs from Born Pretty Store and use my 10% off code SA7X31!
What are you planning on wearing on your nails tonight? Do you have any big plans? I'm hosting a new years/birthday party and I'm sooo excited! Hope you all have a fantastic new year and I'll see you all in 2013 :D

Christmas Nails Galore!
Hey Friends! I ended up doing a few of my friends and family's nails over the holidays so I thought I would share these all in one post with you :)
I did these on my friend Sam, she saw the gold snowflake stamping I did on myself and asked to have the same thing done on her! I used Essie Marshmallow and Essie Good As Gold with BM-313
I did these for my friend Heather! She just let me do whatever I wanted so I started with the cutest santa ever on her ring nails and then freehanded some red snowflakes over China Glaze Glistening Snow. Doesn't she have the most gorgeous long nail beds?! I wish my nails looked like that :)
I did these on my sister! Her dress for Christmas was a gorgeous blue so we decided on some blue skittles to match. The base is Essie Mesmerize, on her index the stamp is BM-313 and Pure Ice Silver Mercedes. Middle nail is a gradient of the two polishes, ring is a bunch of rhinestones and studs from Born Pretty Store and her pinky is Harlow & Co. Misfits. They matched her dress really well!
These are my nails! My original idea for Heather was to paint the same white snowflake on top of the red one, but we both liked the red snowflake so we left hers alone. I was wearing butter LONDON Fairy Cake alone and once I had finished hers I wanted to try it out on myself quickly. I had planned on adding to this the next day, but I used glue as my basecoat and my nails fell off before I could add anything!
What were you wearing on your nails over Christmas? I'll have my Christmas nails up hopefully later today! :)

Reverse that Fistail
Hey lacquerheads! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying some time off :) I will have a Christmas goodies post up soon to share with you all. I had an AMAZING Christmas and have really enjoyed my little break from blogging. I did these nails a few weeks before Christmas when I received my winnings from Nail Polish Canada. butter LONDON Black Night has been on my lemming list since well forever. I could just never break down and buy it. So when I won it, it was the first polish I pulled out of the box and put on my nails!
I had worn Black Knight for a day on its own and thought it needed some sprucing up. Since I am obsessed with this reverse fishtail look I went ahead and did it! I decided on blue and pink as my fishtail colours to complement the glitter in Black Knight.
I used Essie Blue Rhapsody as my mettallic blue and then pulled out butter LONDON Disco Biscuit and added that as the bottom! In hindsight Disco Biscuit was probably not the best choice for the base since it is so jelly like, but I really wanted the blue glitter to come out and complement Blue Rhapsody.
I'm not sure I'm loving this colour combination. I could have picked better polishes I think, but I still love this technique. And butter LONDON Black Knight is fantastic. Pure awesome in a bottle.
What do you think of this colour combination? Win or fail?
Are you doing anything special in this lull after Christmas? I'm just hanging out with friends and family before I have to pack everything up and move off to school!
Hope you're having a wonderful holiday!
psssst only 3 days til my birthday! yup I'm a new years eve baby :D

Zoya Gilty with Some Christmas Embellishments
Gooooood Morning loves! I am DONE my co-op! No more hour and a half commute both ways each day. I am REALLY looking forward to getting to sleep past 5:45 for the next little while. :D
Today I have an amazing polish to share with you, Zoya Gilty. Ever since the gold top coat trend started I really wanted to get my hands on one. However the $30+ price tag was really holding me back. I love polish, but I need to be able to pay for tuition lol. So when I was lucky enough to win Week 2 of Nail Polish Canada's Holiday nail art contest I literally jumped for joy knowing that a gold topcoat would be mine!
I decided that I actually needed to wear this polish. No swatching here. So on Sunday night I finally say down and put on two coats of China Glaze Running In Circles and then added Zoya Gilty. The green and gold combination is to die for. I'm hooked on it! I felt so luxurious with real 18K gold on my nails. There is just no other way to describe it.
I'd been wearing this for 2 days, and generally that's as long as I can leave something on, but there was a part of me just begging myself not to take it off. So I embellished it!
I started with the thought in mind to just add the rhinestone and bullion bead bows just on my ring nail and thumb. Then something in me wanted to make it into a skittlette! Since I didn't want to screw up my right hand I just painted over what was already there with OPI The Spy Who Loved Me on my middle nail and Essence A Piece of Forever on my pinky. I left my index nail alone to give Gilty the spotlight.
I actually can't believe how many compliments this manicure got. Everyone at the office was grabbing my hand being like no you didn't do this? The cashier at the grocery store freaked out a little too when I told her that I did them myself. lol AND I got my right hand to match! Don't believe me? Here's PROOF!
I wore these for another 2 days until my thumb popped off and I couldn't walk around with a bare thumb. I almost wish these had been my Christmas day nails. I'll have to come up with something else now.
I really do love these and they felt so festive! What do you think of my Gilty embellished nails? Would you wear something like this during the holiday season?
I can't believe we are so close to Christmas! This year has really snuck up on me. I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season my dears!

Sincerely Stephanie Does Let Them Have Polish
Morning ladies and gents and lacquerheads!
Today I have some nails that I blatantly copied from Let Them Have Polish! I had just finished a swatch marathon and needed something simple to put on my nails that would still look fabulous. I remembered this manicure of Cristina's that I had pinned to my inspiration folder months ago and decided to just do exactly what she did!
The only thing is I have none of the exact same polishes Cristina used, but I have very close dupes. I started off with one coat of NOPI Keeping Up With Santa. Then used the saran wrap technique and SOPI Never Enough Shoes to add a little edge.
Then I stamped with Essie Good As Gold and Konad M83. Add a coat of Seche and I had some gorgeous LTHP nails on my nails!
I loved these and was actually wearing them when I was sick last week so they stayed on for 5 days! Cristina is pretty much a nail genius and I love her blog. If for some reason you have never heard of Let Them Have Polish! then run over and follow her now. :)
Hope you're all having a wonderful day! We're getting close to Christmas! Less than a week away! Eeeeeeeee!

Twin Post with Jamie of Polish, Please!
Today I have a very special post to share with all of you! I'm doing a twin post with a lovely Jamie of Polish, Please!
About a month ago I started noticing that Jamie commented on almost all of my posts. Her comments were always so nice that after awhile I eventually had to click on her to find out who she was! When I found out she had a blog as well I asked her if she wanted to do a twin post with me. We chatted about a few different ideas and finally settled on a mani that is Good As Gold. Gold is such a perfect colour for the holiday season and is huge this year. You can probably all tell I'm a little obsessed with the amount of gold I have been using this month! ;)
Green and gold have to be one of the most perfect combinations ever so I went with my love for those and created these extravagant gold and green nails!
I started with Milani White On The Spot on my index and ring nails and China Glaze Running In Circles on the rest of my nails. Here is where the gold comes in. I did a gradient with Running In Circles and Essence A Piece of Forever. On my index and ring nails I created a half moon in green rhinestones and then went to work adding gold bullion beads.
On my thumb I added some gold crosses to to give it a little more visual interest. Running in circles and gold look so good together and I can say I've worn this combination a few more times since!
All in all this was pretty simple to create, just a little time consuming with placing all the beads! I love looks like this and always find them ornate and over the top, which I adore. I haven't done anything like this in awhile and it was nice to have some 3D feel on my nails.
Head over to Polish, Please! to see what Jamie has created for our twin post!
Do you like 3D manicures? Would you wear this on your nails? Hope you're having a fabulous day :)

A Royal Skittlette
Afternoon! So many double posts going on up in here! I've got a skittlette manicure to share with you today. Marta of Chit Chat Nails is having a skittlette nail art contest. She defines skittlette as a manicure with two or three different accent nails. Y'all know how much I love to mix up my nails so I was super excited to enter this contest!
The inspiration for these nails was OPI Can't Let Go Liquid Sand. I had recieved it in the mail the day before I did these, but knew I wouldn't have time to swatch it and then create a look. So I put it on my middle nail and thumb and completely fell in love.
I love the combination of purple and gold so I ran with that for the rest of my nails. My index is Alter Ego Goldpanner with a dotted gradient using, Nail the B.Y.T.C.H. Fruity Cutie Butte, China Glaze Creative Fantasy and Rimmel Night Before. My ring nail is my reverse fishtail using Creative Fantasy, Essie As Good As Gold and Night Before. My pinky is Night Before with an ikat print using Good As Gold and a black and white.
I love the colour purple. Sometimes I go through phases were I become obsessed with a colour and this happens quite often with purple. When I was in first year of university one of my friends made me a purple box with purple candy and a plethora od purpleness.
I'm really excited to see the rest of the entries in the nail art competition! What do you think of my royal skittlette? Do you like the purple and gold colour combination?
You can check out the rest of the entries in the contest here!
Hope you're having a great day!

Wal-Mart Wednesday: Reverse Fishtail
Welcome to another installment of Wal-Mart Wednesday! Today I am excited to show you what I think is a new look, the Reverse Fishtail!
We've all seen the fishtail nail made famous by Sarah of Chalkboard Nails. So I decided to turn it on its head for a little reverse fish action. These were super easy to create, the hardest part will be clean up!
I started with Sally Hansen Insta Dri Co-Balt Blue. Then I used Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and leaving a third of my nail at the top swooped in down towards the middle of my nail. Then swooped down on the other side and filled in on either side. Then I used Sally Hansen White On to do the same thing about two thirds of the way down my nail. I felt like the white area was a tad stark so I went over it with Wet n Wild Break The Ice to add a little shimmer. Just follow this tutorial and flip it upside down to get the reverse fishtail look!
For my accent nail I did two coats of my favourite silver Sally Hansen Celeb City and then used loose blue glitter to create a snowflake!
I'm loving the reverse fishtail look and this is actually the second time I've worn it! I originally came up with it as an accent nail in a skittle look which I'll show you this afternoon! It's super easy and all you need is the polish brush. Nail art anyone can do! :D
What do you think of my reverse fishtail with a snowflake accent look? Is the reverse fishatil something you would try out?
Hope you're all having a fab day!

My Entry for Wacky Laki Fashion Inspired Nail Art Contest
Afternoon ladies gents and lacquerheads!
I have some nails that I created for Wacky Laki's Fashion inspired nail art contest. I have only ever created fashion inspired nails once or twice so I really wanted to push myself to try and create something for her contest.
These wacky nails were inspired by a dress Victoria Beckham was wearing. Here is the inspiration!
For this look I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Ion. Then using my medium length striping brush I created some blobs with Essence Off To Miami!. I used the same technique as if I was creating ikat print nails. Then I used It's So Easy Stripe Rite Black to add the black outline to each shape and some black speckled throughout each blob. Honestly at this point I thought it was going to be a total fail, but I kept going.
They looked like little hairy amoebas until I added the black lines using my striping polish. Once the lines were there I actually quite liked the final look!
These were fun to create it actually really pushed my boundaries to create something fashion inspired! What do you think of these nails?
For this contest there is a public vote going on now over at Wacky Laki! There are some spectacular entries, some of these ladies really know how to take fashion and directly translate it onto their nails! You can vote for your favourite nails here.

Palette Cleanser Snowflakes!
Morning! Today I have some simple, holiday nails I did. I want my nails to be holiday themed ALL THE TIME, but I had a big presentation to give in front of some big names at the office so needed something really subtle and clean. This is what I came up with!
I used 3 coats of Essie Marshmallow as my base, which I still think is the most perfect polish. Squishy, white jelly goodness, yes please! Then I stamped with BM-313 and Essie As Good As Gold.
This was just what I was looking for! Unless you really looked at it, the snowflakes were really subtle and my nails just looked clean. The squishyness of Marshmallow reminded me of freshly fallen fluffy snow.
These are perfect if you can't wear bright crazy colours at the office, but still want your nails to be in the holiday season.
Do you like the subtle holiday look? What kinds of holiday nails have you done?
