Whimsical Swizzle Six

Happy Monday Lovelies!

Today I have the wonderful Whimsical to show you! Whimsical has been all over the internet and I finally managed to get my hands on a few bottles, maybe one will be for a future giveaway? Who knows ;)

Whimsical is a polish by Revlon and supposedly a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in the Air. There is a great comparison on Colour is Magic which shows how close these two polishes really are.

The polish is a very light baby blue that goes on sheer with pink and blue large hex glitter as well as some smaller round glitter and some blue microglitter. I layered Whimsical over Barielle's Swizzle Stix a baby blue jelly-creme polish that was opaque in three coats and used L'Oreal's Trust Fund Baby a pigmented pink creme on my ring finger. Then I used one coat of Whimsical.

I love how it looks over the blue and think that it would look great over a white jelly like Essie's Marshmellow as well. It's a gorgeous polish and I love that I managed to get a bottle.

Essence is Coming to CANADA!!

Essence is coming to Canada! YAY!

You may have heard the buzz on a number of other blogs that the cute and wonderful AND inexpensive German based brand Essence is coming to Canada to be sold exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart.

I have heard that some Shoppers already have them in, but some that I have visited said they won't be coming in until March 12th.

Don't the colours look pretty! And best part the nail polish sells for only $1.49!! So you will not have to feel bad for buying as many as you want! I have heard that the most expensive item will still be under $4.99. Amazing.

To find out which Shoppers are going to be carrying Essence go to Shoppers and search for stores near you. Then look at store details and check what brands they will be carrying. Not every shoppers will have it, but many of them do from what I have checked :D

In the mean time also check out Essence's website to see their selection of nail polish and other cosmetics.

Loreleis Tiara For Audrey

Hey Everyone!

Today I have a glitter gradient, really just a glitterbomb of a manicure to show you. When I found For Audrey earlier I immediately thought that it would look perfect with Loreleis Tiara from the China Glaze Eye Candy Collection. Unfortunately or fortunately as I was sitting down to start my Dad walked through the door with nail mail! And in this package was OPI's Simmer and Shimmer from the Burlesque Collection. So I decided to incorporate all three polishes into my mani.

I started with 2 coats of China Glaze For Audrey. Then I lightly placed a few strokes of Simmer and Shimmer on my nails trying to concentrate the polish on the upper 3/4 of the nail. Then I took a makeup sponge and sponged the glitter off trying to create a little more separation between the glitter. Note: Simmer and Shimmer is a micro glitter in a clear jelly base packed with dark blue, teal, gold and silver pieces. Then I took Loreleis Tiara and placed this on the tip of the nail and then sponged again. Loreleis Tiara is a mix of micro and medium sized hex glitter in silver and blue. 

I think it still goes pretty well with my Tiffany box, although now my nails look like they could be on the inside!! tee hee.





I think the above and below pictures show the most true to what the polish looked like in real life. 

I love love love glitter bomb manis. How do you feel about them? Do you ever try mixing different glitters?

Ovalene Penguinone Dottitonium

My friend Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails is hosting a nail art contest and the theme is the dotting tool! You're allowed to do anything you want as long as you don't use nail art brushes, just a dotting tool and the brush that comes with the polish.

When I heard this I immediately thought of Molecules! Remember in high school science when you had to put these things together and connect all the gray pieces with multi coloured balls to create some sort of chemical or element? Well I thought that this would be a great as a mani. If you are still baffled as to the name of this blog post I decided that since some molecules have super strange names I would create my own strange name for my mani!

I used Wet n Wild's Ebony Hates Chris as the black base and China Glaze White on White on my ring finger. Then I used L'Oreals Lady Luck for the red dots and White on White for the white dots. Then I took a toothpick and created the gray connection pieces with Ardene's Gray Skies. Then went back over the red and white dots again with my dotting tool. I used China Glaze Love Marilyn on my ring finger as an accent and because well I love glitter. :)
