Glitter and Rhinestones Oh My!

Hey dears!

I hope you have all had a great weekend! This is the 4th post in the SNAAARKM challenge and the criteria for today is Glitter, Rhinestone's and Fimo Oh My! If you have been following me for awhile then you know that glitter and rhinestones make my very very happy. I'm a very girly girly at heart and love using them both! So I decided that I needed to use both of them in my mani. I was looking at my collection and a glitter that really stood out to me and was an untried was Deborah Lippmann's Shake Your Groove Thing. This got me thinking and I decided to use this and some purple rhinestones, to make this creation. I chose purple because that's the colour of royalty! ;)

I started with a coat of Orly's Luxe, my favourite gold foil. Then one nail at a time while the polish was still wet I placed the purple rhinestones on with a dotting tool. I was trying to make the rhinestones go in a wavy pattern and I really only managed to get it on my ring and pinky fingers.

I used the polish brush in Shake Your Groove Thing to sort of dab on the glitter and push it around on the tip of my nail.

Sidenote: Don't you love the shape of the Deborah Lippmann bottles! They are simply perfection and just the most gorgeous bottles ever.

These nails were too blingy for words! Between the glitter and the rhinestones I just couldn't get over them! What do you think of insane bling nails like these?

Would you ever wear something like this?

Vertical and Horizontal Lines

Hey guys!

Today I've got a quick post of some nails that I did on my friend recently.

I started off with 2 coats of NYC French White Tip. Then I used a black striper to create the horizontal lines. Then I used the yellow, blue, green, pink and orange Color Club stripers from the Brights set to randomly create the vertical lines!

It's a really fun, bright summer mani! How do you like her nails?

Dotting Tool: Green Dotting Machine!

This is the 3rd post in the SNAAARKM challenge. Today's theme of the challenge is the Dotting Tool. The possibilities for how to use a dotting tool are endless. You can dot, draw, stripe really do almost anything. I decided to keep it simple and do some chevron dot stripes :)

I started off with two coats of GOSH's Forest Floor. This is a lovely green creme, perfect formula and great coverage. Then I grabbed a medium sized dotting tool and OPI's Stranger Tides. I started at the tip of my nail and made a chevron pattern on my nail. Then I alternated with Essence's Choose Me! in the chevron pattern all the way up and down my nail. I finished off with a coat of Color Club's top coat!

I love using dotting tools and I really love dotticures. This is one of my favourite dotticures that I've done in awhile. And it's green! They are really growing on me I tell ya. I wanted this to all be in similar colours to tone down what has been on my nails recently so that's why I went for the all green palette.

Mani's like this are easy and fun to do, all it requires is dotting tools or a bobby pin, or a toothpick. Really you can find anything around the house to make this work!

Do you like dotticures? Have you done any recently? What colours do you use for them?

Essence Swatch Spam Day 3!

Happy Friday Lovers!

This is my final day of showing you all of my Essence lovelies :)

essence-choose-me!

Choose Me!  Oh baby should you choose this polish. It's seriously gorgeous and I will be needed a backup bottle or two. It's a blue/green/turquoise glassfleck with a gold shimmer running throughout. This is a dupe for OPI's Catch Me in Your Net. Kayla Shevonne did an awesome comparison that you can check out here! This swatch was 2 coats.

Glamorous Life This is a red jelly base with a hot pink glassfleck shimmer throughout. I really liked this one although I was expecting it to be a deeper red than pink. I think it might be a dupe for Color Clubs Wing Fling from the Take the Wing collection. I loved the way this caught the light, so pretty!!

Where is the Party? Seriously where is it? I thought I was going to love this polish. It has such potential!! A purple green duochrome I thought it was going to be right up my alley. However I just wasn't feeling it. Some people might love it, but it's not for me. This was 2 coats.
