Do You Like Thimbleberries?

Purchased by Me

Hey Everyone, how are you all doing? I hope you are all doing marvellous. If you follow me regularly you may have noticed over the past little while my posting has become sporadic and I am for sure not posting as often as I used to. Well 6 weeks ago I broke my ankle and have been in an Aircast and on crutches ever since. Yesterday I headed off to what I thought would be my last appointment with the surgeon and throw my crutches to the wind and start walking again! Unfortunately this was not the case. The fracture has healed but there is some concern for the rest of my ankle. SOOO I am still in my cast and on crutches for minimum another 2 weeks until we can get an MRI, which will hopefully be sooner rather than later. So please bear with me as I will probably continue to be sporadically posting until I am able to walk and get my life in order again.

Ok, rant ended, you came here to see some nails, so here they are!

These nails are a few weeks old, I think I did them the second week that I was hurt and you can see I have mega super nubs. The day before I banged my index nail against my crutch resulting in these rounded nails. I took these pictures after 4 or 5 days of wear so please excuse the tip wear.

After I hurt myself my fabulous mother had been in Target and bought me two new Sinful Colors polishes! You have no idea how excited I am that these are in Canada :D One of those was this gorgeous coral creme, Sinful Colors Thimbleberry. I had to wear it right away, because I just love it. This was 2 creamy coats.

On my first 3 nails I wanted to go for a saran wrap, but mine was up some stairs in my kitchen so instead I ripped a piece of plastic bag and used that to create my saran wrap nails using Essie Good As Gold. Then added 2 black rhinestones at the base of my nails. On my ring and pinky I added one coat of Wet n Wild Fergie's Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night to match up all the black and gold.

I wore these for 4 or 5 days and quite enjoyed it! I did a similar look last year here in different colours, but this is screaming a little more spring time to me! I hope you liked my Thimbleberry accent nails and are having a great weekend!

Psychedelic Holographic Stamping

Press Sample Purchased by Me

Happy Tuesday! So as some of you may have seen on my Facebook page, yesterday afternoon I finished my last undergraduate exam!!!! And it went fairly well if I do say so myself! I'm really excited and now have about 2 weeks before my summer semester starts, where I'll be writing a thesis to finish off my degree. This is why I've been slightly MIA lately, needed to study for that crazy thing!

So what do you wear when you're done your exams?! Holographics of course! Once I had swatched the China Glaze Hologlam Collection I was interested to see if they would be suitable for stamping, so perfect opportunity here.

Turns out that yes! China Glaze Strap on Your Moonboots is great for stamping!

I used Revlon Bare Bones as my base, which I am kind of obsessed with as a nude lately, and then stamped with BM-221 and Strap on Your Moonboots. Super simple and I'm loving the effect!

I love the psychedelic look of the stamp and with the holographic polish it looks even cooler! Do you like this look? Would you wear your holographic polishes stamped?

Well I'm going to be relaxing and playing with my puppy all day and hopefully starting a book! Any good suggestions out there?

I hope you're having a great Tuesday!

Ripples Nails with étoile Polish Greenwich St. Soirée

Press Sample

Afternoon friends!

The other day I shared some swatches of the fabulous étoile polish Greenwich St. Soirée Collection and today I have some nail art using those polishes to share with you! The two colours looked absolutely perfect side by side and I knew that I needed to create something simple that would show off these amazing colours.

These started with a base of étoile polish Pink Panache, you can see my original swatches here. Then I used étoile polish Fizzy Cucumber and a small nail art brush and freehanded on my ripples.

The ripples were kind of an accident I started with my index nail and middle nail and my original plan was to create the same pattern on all my nails, but then those two nails reminded me of ripples in the water. So I changed my game plan and switched the curves on my ring and pinky nails. For my thumb I just followed the shape of my nail and did the ripples coming out from my cuticle.

I wanted to make a note of how amazing the packaging of these polishes are so I took a picture in front of the packaging :D

I ended up liking this design a lot more that I initially thought I would and am really pleased with it! You can see my original swatches of étoile polish Greenwich St. Soirée Collection here! Keep up with them on Facebook and Twitter
:)
What do you think of this nail art look? Do you like my rippling nail art?

Hope you're having a great day!

butter LONDON Canada presents Summer Holiday, the Summer 2013 lacquer collection by butter LONDON, launching online and in store April 15th!

Mix and mash prints, and revel in fabrics that are foiled, embossed, and authentic. Sultry metallics in platinum, gold, and rust evoke luxury, while crushed glitter in rich shades of copper and umber are offset by an accent of African turquoise.

Bit Faker- Full coverage chocolate glitter
Sun Baker- Metallic burnished orange
Champers- Sandy beige shimmer
Poole- Opaque turquoise crème
Marbs- Rich metallic gold

étoile Polish Greenwich St. Soirée Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Afternoon friends! I'm taking a short study break to share with you some absolutely gorgeous new polishes from étoile Polish. I previously posted about this brand in December and was originally really impressed with them and this time around is no different. If you are unfamiliar with the brand, all of étoile polishes are infused with diamond dust to give your nails an absolutely gorgeous sparkle.

The two shades that I have to share with you today make up the Greenwich St. Soirée collection. Here is an excerpt from their website about this collection

Refreshing cocktails, cobblestones cafes, cheerfully colored accessories - these are just a few of the things that make spring so sweet. Inspired by New York City's West Village, our latest collection, Greenwich St. Soirée, includes Fizzy Cucumber, a fresh mint green, and Pink Panache, a bold hot pink. Both infused with our signature ingredient: genuine diamond dust.

Fizzy Cucumber is an absolutely perfect mint green shimmer. I am a tad obsessed with these type of shades and this one is no exception. The colour is bright and perfect for spring, (if the weather ever decides that it is actually going to be spring! lol)

This polish has the signature étoile Polish shimmer caused by the infusion of diamond dust which just makes this extra special. The formula was perfection and was opaque and beautiful in two easy coats. I'm in love!

Pink Panache is an awesomely bold bright pink! Even though I'm obsessed with mint green shades this polish is really amazing. I don't think I can pick between the two. This is going to be perfection for spring and summer. I can see this being an amazing pedicure shade once we're into flip flop season.

Again Pink Panache has the signature étoile polish shimmer caused by the infusion of diamond dust. The formula is so opaque it was almost a one coater! I did two coats here to even everything out and bring out even more of that amazing shimmer.

I am really impressed with étoile Polish both in their polish, packaging and their amazing customer service. When I received these I was in awe of the gorgeous artwork on the box as well as a beautiful hand written note. Touches like these always really impress me and make me fall a little more in love with the brand. Check out the amazing box these polishes came in!

etoile Greenwich St. Soirée Collection

You can purchase the Greenwich St. Soirée Collection here for $26 for the collection. Each polish retails for $18 for a full size 13.5mL bottle, so buying the set is a real bargain! They are on the higher end of the price range, but I think these are really worth it. Especially for a special occasion. étoile Polish is one of my current brand crushes and I can't wait to see what else they come out with! Make sure to keep up with them on Facebook and Twitter. What are your thoughts on these beauties?!

China Glaze Getting Down to the Nitty Gritty: Textured Polish Press Release

Afternoon friends! We have all heard a ton about textured nail polishes and now China Glaze has thrown its hat into the ring as well! Comprising of only textured cremes China Glaze is putting out their textured collection, let's see what the press release has to say!

*********************************************************************************

GETTING DOWN TO THE NITTY GRITTY

China Glaze® Introduces Texture: the Newest Technology in Nail Lacquer
Los Angeles (January 2013): China Glaze® introduces Texture, a unique new lacquer that applies as a crème but dries with a 3D texture effect. Unlike traditional nail art techniques that require multiple steps, Texture only requires one step—painting the nail.  Texture dries matte, but can be combined with China Glaze® Fast Forward Top Coat for a glossy effect. With a finish similar to that of a sugared rim, Texture is the perfect accessory for a beach day, night-on-the-town, or special rendezvous.

In The Rough— light lime-green with textured grit

Itty, Bitty & Gritty— melon with textured grit

Of Coarse!— bright, cobalt-blue with textured grit

Unrefined— bright pink with textured grit

Bump & Grind— hot pinkish-red with textured grit

Toe-tally Textured— tangerine-orange with textured grit

The China Glaze® Texture collection will be available in May 2013 at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide.

These look pretty interesting! These are the first creme textured polishes that I will have access to in Canada and I'm looking forward to seeing what they are like versus the glitter filled textured polishes that I have already tried.

What do you think of these textured cremes? Any catching your eye?
