Born Pretty Store Feather Water Decals

Press Sample Purchased by Me

Morning! Hope you've been having a lovely weekend :) I had a significant break in my nails and had to chop them all down to super nubbins! I still have a few posts with my longer nails that I haven't posted yet so over the next little while there may be a mix of long nails and nubbies. Todays are of the nubbin variety.

Feather Water Decals

I recently received these water decals from Born Pretty Store to review. There are 11 different kinds of feathers on them, so an insane number of possibilities for manicures! For these nails I chose to use the white feathers.

I used Essence Walk On Air on all my nails except the accent, which was NYC Lexington Yellow. Before I polished my nails I cut out the decals and removed the plastic covering on all of the decals. Once my polish had dried completely I took these tweezers and picked up the decal and immersed it in water for 20-30 seconds. Then I took the decal out of the water and slid it off the paper backing onto my nail. There is a window of about 15 seconds before the decal will stick so you can move it around to make sure you like the positioning. I did this on all of my nails until I had the desired look!

Feather Water Decals

Water decals are generally easy to use and can be really visually striking. I could never freehand a feather to look this good, and in almost no time! I often forget about water decals because I love freehanding so much, but I'm really glad I tried these out! What are your thoughts on these decals?

This set can be purchased here from Born Pretty Store for $4.73, considering you get 11 sets of feathers and more then enough for 2 manicures putting a decal on all 5 nails for each design, I'd say that's a bargain. Remember to use my 10% off code SA7X31 for even more savings!

KKCenterHK Flower Water Decals

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends! I hope that you all enjoy your Thanksgiving celebrations with friends and family. I know I wish I was in the States celebrating with my boyfriend and his family today. So have a super awesome time and I hope you all stuff yourselves into turkey comas! ;)

Anyway! I have some gorgeous water decals from KKCenterHK to share with you today. Let's just take a look because I loved these!

flower water decals

Gah! How pretty are these?! I started with 2 coats of NYC Lexington Yellow and then added a coat of NYC In a Minute Top Coat to speed up dry time. I had pre cut all my decals so once the top coat was dry I held one decal at a time under water for 20-30 seconds and then slide the decal off the paper backing onto my nail!

I love how delicate these look. The leaves of the flowers have a yellow tinge to them and I loved the way these looked against the butter yellow background. My only issue is the damn bubbles! I topcoated after I applied the decals, and I don't think I got all the water off my nails. They weren't noticeable at a distance, but looking at these it's bothering me. Silly bubbles! LOL

I really love the little fairy on my middle nail that is looking into the flower. There are 20 decals in this package, 10 mirror images of each other. I love that these packages include mirror images so that both hands can be done nicely. Plus 20 decals allows for 2 perfect full hand manicures, or you can stretch out your package and use these as accent nails.

The best part about these is that they are only $2.82! Plus you can use my 10% off coupon sincerelystephanienails to get your decals for even less. These exact decals can be found here! If you want to search for them, the product code is [N.NAIL-WDSY908].

What do you think of these water decals? I'm really enjoying this kind of nail art! They are easy to use and so eyecatching. My friends were asking me how I did them the whole night I wore them!

Hope you're having a wonderful Thanksgiving or just regular Thursday. :)

Cute Skull Water Decals

Morning! Continuing on in my Halloweek of Halloween themed nails, I've got some cute Skull Water decals to share with you that you could rock all year round.

I first saw these water decals on ChitChat Nails and thought they were quite possibly the cutest things I had ever seen. So when KKCenterHK gave me another opportunity to review some or their products, I jumped at adding these decals to my list!

I literally put these on the day that I received them in the mail and got waaaaay to excited and started cutting them all up before I had a chance to take a picture of the packaging, so here is what the sheet looks like courtesy of KKCenterHK!

N.NAIL-WDSY558

You can't tell me these aren't insanely adorable! Since there are 5 different skulls I wanted to use a different on on each nail to show them all off. I had also recently gotten an awesome package from Hannah of Polly Polish, which included the amazing GOSH Holographic Hero and knew that I would be showcasing that in these nails.

Gah! I seriously can't get over how adorable these are! I am smitten with them.

Before I started polishing I cut up the sheet so that 10 of the decals (2 of each design) were on their on little square. I wanted to make sure I didn't mess up my base coats while using the scissors. Then I laid them out in the order of the nails that I wanted to use them on. I also grabbed a shot glass and filled it up with water and my tweezers were close at hand.

I used Holographic Hero on my thumb, middle and ring nails. On my index I used Essence Ultimate Pink and on my ring nail I used NYC Lexington Yellow. Then I was looking at my nails and the decals and it seemed like there was going to be a lot of holo so I grabbed some striping tape and striped off my pinky and then added one coat of Essie Bikini So Teeny. Then I started placing the decals in the water for about 10-15 seconds with the tweezers, then pulling them out and pushing the decal off the paper backing and onto my nail. You've got about a 20 second window to move the decal around until you're happy with it and then it will start to adhere to the nail. These worked perfectly! Absolutely no complaints. Except on my pinky, I slid it off and I hadn't waited long enough for the polish to dry so that's why it got stuck in an off kilter position. So make sure your base colour is completely dry before you start dipping your decals into the water. I also thought my thumb was looking a little bare so I added the bones with a black creme and a striping brush and dotting tool.

I'm still wearing these beauties as I type this up and will only be removing them tonight because I have been wearing them for 4 days and I'm getting a few chips.

The best part about these decals? They are only $2.82! You can get 2 10 fingered manicures plus one extra hand for under 3 dollars? Complete win. You can pick up your very own set here! Also since I know you all like some extra savings you can use my 10% off code sincerelystephanienails

These may not be perfectly Halloweeny but they sure are awesome and I will be busting these out again as accent nails for sure in the near future.

What do you think of these cute skull decals? Will you be trying these anytime soon?

Thanks for coming by! :D

KKCenterHK Peacock Water Decals

Good afternoon!

Awhile back I was contacted by the lovely Maggie from the new to me etailer KKCenterHK and have had the pleasure of reviewing some amazing peacock water decals! (N.NAIL Silver Peacock Feathers Pattern Nail Water N.NAIL-WDHHC045-Silver)

This was my first endeavor into using water decals and they are awesome. Hands down. Gorgeous nail art with minimal effort? Perfect when you want to spice up a manicure but don’t have the time. Before you start painting your nails, cut the decals into pieces so that you can easily grab them without worry about smudging your polish.

For this particular look I started off with a coat of my go to black creme, Wet n Wild Black Creme. Then I added a coat of three of the Finger Paints special effect flakies, Twisted, Asylum, and Motley. I probably didn’t need all three coats, but I really wanted there to be an excess amount of flakies. Once that had dried I took the decal that I wanted and with tweezers held it underwater for about 15-25 seconds. I then took the decal and placed it near my nail and slid the design off the paper back and into position! The best part about these is that they don’t dry right away, so you have time once you place it on your nail to move It around until you are happy with where it is.

You do need to be careful when doing your other hand. I happened to do my left hand first, and then when I was doing my right hand, as I pressed the decal onto my nail some of the still tacky polish on my left hand got caught on my other nail and it all came off! So I had to redo one nail. Which isn’t really all that bad!

If you would like to try these water decals you can find them here

! They are US $6.39 for a set AND you can use my awesome 10% off coupon sincerelystephanienails. Water decals are definitely something I will try again in the future. KKCenterHK has so many unique designs to pick from as well, so if peacock feathers aren’t your thing, then maybe one of their other designs is for you.

Have you ever tried water decals? What’s your experience with them? Would you wear these peacock feathers?

Thanks for stopping by! :D
