Jelly Sandwich!

Morning Folks!

Today I will be starting a challenge with a group of lovely girls that I met through twitter :) This is a Smorgasboard of a challenge with a variety of different techniques. We'll be posting 7 challenge days every other day, check out the graphic at the end of my post to see what else will be included! The first day is a jelly sandwich.

I started off with 2 coats of Essie's Marshmallow, which is my favourite jelly to use for sandwiches! Then I added 1 coat of Finger Paints Flecked which is the green flakie. Then I added a coat of LA Girl's Eutopia, which is a Violet Purple glitter in a clear jelly base. Then I added one more coat of Marshmallow. Finished off with a coat of NYC top coat.

I'm really sad that the green flakies didn't show up in the sandwich! Maybe if I put them over a black base next time with a different jelly on top? I shall keep experimenting :)

I like how this turned out, it reminded me of a twist on Nubar Black and White Polka Dots. What do you think of this jelly sandwich?

Check out the other girls participating in this challenge! Alaina of The Little Canvas, Ryan of Dream A Little Dream of Polish, Ave of Polish Pixelle, Megan of Let there Be Lacquer, Nicole of My Nails. My Polish, Kristen of In the Name of Polish and Amanda of Fashion Footing.

  4. Very pretty! Mmm I really don´t think you can use flakies for jelly sandwich because they lies flat on the nail, they don´t stand out as a glitter. And the color of the flakie it´s given for the light, if you put a jelly over it, it kind of "kill" the effect (I think so, I´m not totally sure anyway)

  5. I love how this came out! Yours came out similar to mine - more of a solid finish than anything blingy.
