A Model's Geometry

Goooood Morning my dears!

Kelsie of Kelsie's Nail Files is having a nail art contest to celebrate her one year blogaversary! The requirements for the contest are to come up with nails inspired by a photo on her Pinterst Nail Inspiration Board. She has a ton of images that I could pick from but I kept going back to one model on a runway and came up with this!

The nails were inspired by this image,

Cool right?! I really like the outfit and since geometric designs are kinda ma thang this outfit totally called out to me!

From my thumb to middle nail I started with Miliani White On The Spot my go to white creme and then drew on the design using Wet n Wild Black Creme and my medium length striping brush. Then I went back with Model's Own Hedkandi Balearic Cool and filled in some stripes. On my ring nail and pinky I did 3 coats of Balearic Cool to emulate her bright blue pants!

I quite like the outcome of these nails! They are fun and incorportate my favourite thing, geometric prints!

There are a lot of great entries to her contest already and I encourage all of you to head over to her Pinterest board and enter!

What do you all think of these nails? Hope you guys are having a great Monday! :D

31 Day Challenge Day 16: Tribal

Tribal Nails! I have been so excited about today's prompt since the start of the challenge. Tribal nails are one of the first forms of nail art that I attempted and have been one of my favourites ever since. There are just endless tribalesque patterns that you can try! I am beyond stoked with the nails that I came up with and they are actually my favourite nail art that I've done in awhile! :D

Please excuse that awful little cut on my ring finger. Somehow last night that happened, and I realized while editing these pictures, that it looks so much worse in close up shots than real life!

I used Milani White On The Spot as my base and then used a medium length striping brush to freehand the tribal pattern. I used a ton of polishes, so I'll list them all below! I just went with lines, triangles and dots and kind of went with the flow. I didn't have a plan beyond that sitting down, which was kind of fun to see just what happened!

I had my friend and my aunt ask me if they were stickers last night, and when I said nope I freehanded them, they both looked at me like I was insane! But I enjoyed doing it. :) Maybe I'm a little crazy, but they are so much fun!

Grey, Pink, Black and Blue

Morning dolls! I am sooooooo close to being done my exams! I handed in my final paper for one of my classes yesterday and I just have one exam on Saturday left! I'm not going to lie this exam period has been extremely mentally exhausting. Most often my exam period spans over 3 weeks so I have lots of time to relax in-between studying. This time though it all happened in 2 weeks along with having to write that pesky paper and mark exams and papers. I can't wait to get home and sit by my pool with a drink!

Anyway I did these nails about a week or so ago, I wanted to play around some more with loose glitter and this is what I came up with!

I started off with 2 coats of Barielle U-Concrete Me on my thumb, index and ring nails. I used 2 coats of Nailtini Grenadine on my middle and pinky nails. From there I just went with the flow. I wanted to do a variation on the fishtail nail on my thumb using Grenadine and black loose glitter. On my index I did a V-Gap with Grenadine and black glitter. My middle nail is two coats of Model's Own Disco Mix which is micro pink and blue square glitter. I adore this polish. It's really a stunner! My ring nail is purple loose glitter up the middle and pink loose glitter along the sides. I'm really dissapoointed that the purple glitter smeared when I added topcoat, but from afar you couldn't notice ;) Finally I did a frame on my pinky alternating purple and black loose glitter.

Playing with loose glitter is fun! These are from Michael's I had a coupon for 50% off one item then 40% off your whole purchase, and magically they could be used together! So I got 12 cylinders of loose glitter for a steal. I will for sure be trying to incorporate these into more nail art in the future. :)

I was wearing these when I went to see my esthetician and she died over the loose glitter. She asked if I placed them all by hand and she looked at me with the straightest face and was like, "You're crazy." I might be because these did take awhile, but it was super fun to do!

What do you think of these loose glitter nails? Is this something you would spend some time on or do you like to stick to easier forms of nail art?

Hope you're all having a fab Friday! I'll be tucked away in a library somewhere studying away for my last one!

Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by! <3
