Favourite Polish of the Month!

Afternoon Lovelies!

So I want to start off by apologizing for not posting the past 2 days, life got a little crazy so I wasn't able to spend the time blogging! I will post another one tonight to make up for it :) Plus I start my Valentines Day Challenge tomorrow so there will be a post everyday for the next 14 days! Excited? I sure am :)

So today I will be showing you a swatch of my favourite polish of the month! Each month after everything I've done I'm going to decide on a favourite and share it with you!

January's fav is.... Orly's Bailamos!

This polish is from the Summer 2010 Viva! Collection and is an absolutely beautiful light teal with just a hint of a gorgeous shimmer. I'm so in love with this. I love blues on my nails anyway and this is just such a pretty colour. The application was easy too, with all the pictures being two coats. Btw no top coat in any picture!

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I have used this in a couple different manicures that I haven't posted yet, so be on the lookout for lots more to come using January's favourite polish!

Until next time,
Sincerely Stephanie

Valentines Day Challenge!

So since I did the valentines day themed mani for Carolina I have been having all sorts of Valentines day ideas! So I have created a Valentines Day Challenge to start on February 1st and go through to the 14th!

This is what I have come up with!

I'm super excited to do this as it will be the first challenge I do! (Does it still count if I created the challenge myself? I'm going to have to go with YES! :) )

If anyone else wants to do the challenge with me then let me know! I would love some company :)

Until next time,
Sincerely Stephanie

mermaid green glitter gradient

hellloooo lovelies!

I did another glitter gradient recently using some of the nail polish that my mom got me when she was in the states. Here's the final product!

It really reminded me of a mermaid, or under the sea. It was so shimmery and beautiful that I kept looking at it all day! The first day I wore this I actually wore a sweater that is the same colour as the base coat with some gems and embroidery across the top. I was so matchy it was awesome haha. The polishes I used for this were Orly's Bailamos, Finger Paint's Art You Wondering and LA Girl's Nostalgic in that order.

Macro shot, look at all that glitter!

After a day of wear I had some tip wear so I decided to put a matte top coat over top to see how it looked!

I liked the matte glitter, because well I love all matte glitters, but I think that since all the polish I used was so close in colour it didn't allow the little pieces to shine through and show of the glitters itself. But I still loved it. It's a blueish colour and well I simply just love blues!

Until next time,
Sincerely Stephanie

Nicki Minaj Save Me and Turquoise Shatter

So there is a funny story behind this swatch. I got the Nicki Minaj Collection for Christmas and on the box it said the colours were Did it On 'Em, Fly, Pink Friday and Metallic 4 Life. So not looking that closely at the actual colours I assumed that those were the four colours that I got. Then I was putting on what I assumed was Metallic 4 Life and realized it looked nothing like it was supposed to! So I did some searching and voila I actually had Save Me! Has anyone else run into this? Do all the mini collections have Save Me labeled as Metallic 4 Life?

Well that is besides the point, but I'm not really sure how I feel about this polish. It covers pretty well, but all the bar glitter doesn't sit perfectly on the nail and well I just don't know how I feel about it.

I do really like the colouring of it, but I'm just not the biggest fan of it on its own. Sidenote, I used it over a navy blue on my toes and I really did like that colour combo!

I tried to put turquoise shatter over it, but I don't think the shatter sat well on top of the glitter, or maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to be dry. Or maybe the glitter just doesn't show through very well. Anyway not a fan of this combination.

I will work on finding better combinations for both these polishes. I really think that they are probably great polishes on their own, but together not the best thing I've ever done. This was a disappointing post. I will post again like now to make up for the terribleness of this haha.

Until next time,
Sincerely Stephanie

Nicki Minaj Pink Friday and Red Shatter

And another Nicki Minaj swatch! This time its Pink Friday.
Pink Friday is the absolute perfect bubblegum pink that every girly girl in the world should own.  I'm just going to let the pictures do the talking.

Isn't it simply gorgeous!! And wait it only gets better. I then layered OPI's Red Shatter over top of it and I LOVED it. It reminded me of an Irish Dance dress that I had a few years ago. I'll share the picture at the bottom :)

It's fabulous. The red pink combo generally makes me feel like cupid threw up, but in this case I don't really get that vibe. It's a cute combo that I would for sure wear again, but maybe jazzed up a little :)

Here's the dress I wore,

Don't the nails remind you of it?! I think so anyway haha

Until next time,

Nicki Minaj Fly

Evening lovelies!

Tonight I will be showing you a quick swatch of Fly from the Nicki Minaj OPI Collection.
This blue is such a gorgeous creme, it has a beautiful glisten even without a topcoat.

I love this colour so much! I totally want a full sized bottle of it if I can find it somewhere! I might even wear this polish with nothing else?!!? Crazy I know right? I'm a huge fan :)

Until next time,
Sincerely Stephanie

Nicki Minaj Did It On 'Em

So I know that everyone has done swatches of the Nicki Minaj collection but I love it so much that I just had to do it too!

Started off with Did It On 'Em

This is one of those 'ugly' colours. It's a neon yellow with a hint of green in it. Regardless that it would be considered an ugly colour I LOVE it. I think it's so pretty. I just felt like it was a party colour.

Since the colour screamed party to me I had to do a glitter gradient with Wet n Wild's Party of Five Glitter. I used the brush to put on the glitter and then spread it out to achieve the gradient look.

I LOVE THIS! The glitter just looks fantastic over this colour. Love it soooo much!

Until next time,

Sincerely Stephanie

NEW POLISH HAUL!

I have to start off this post by saying my mom is AWESOME. She is completely embracing my obsession and even helping my grow my collection.
This past weekend she was down in the States and while she was there picked me up SEVEN new polishes! Just cause. Needless to say last night when she came home I was drooling just staring at all my gorgeous new polish.
Here is everything that I got!

my stash!

Art You Wondering, Bailamos, Lightning Bolt (crackle)

Synergy, Eutopia, Nostalgic, Celebrate

Glass Nail File!!

FULL SIZED STRAWS!
So for those of you that are incredibly confused by the 100 full sized straws, here's a quick run down. When I did my splatter mani last week I only had a teeny tiny straw and ended up with polish all over my lips and teeth because it was only about 2 inches long so the polish was getting everywhereeeeeee. So my loving mother decided to pick me up 100 full sized straws so that won't happen again! So thoughtful haha

I can't wait to swatch all of these for you! Look for them this upcoming week!

Until next time,
Sincerely Stephanie

some linear tribal like nails

The last mani I did mainly used linear lines to create some kind of tribal, just looks really cool nail art.
Here's the final product!

I love how every nail is different and different base colours too! I'm becoming a big fan of having every nail be different. Watch out there may be many more designs like this in the future... :)

For this I used China Glaze White on White, Sally Hansen's Rockstar Pink (the glitter), Wet n Wild's Through the Grapevine (creme purple) and Wet n Wild's Ebony Hates Chris.

white on white, rockstar pink, through the grapevine, ebony hates chris

I used a dotting tool and a brush to create all the various lines all over my nails.

Overall I love this look! It was super easy to do because it is all just essentially vertical and horizontal lines with a few dots thrown in there. Very simple and has a really great effect! I had a girl grab my hand on Saturday while we were chatting at a pub because she loved them!

Until next time,
Sincerely Stephanie
