I want to wish all of my American readers a very Happy Independence Day! Since I missed posting a Canada Day manicure I decided to combine the two holidays into one manicure! My boyfriend is a dual citizen so he is really the one that inspired these nails :)
I was originally going to go for an abstract mani of sorts just using red, white and blue. However since the only colour difference in the flags is blue, I decided to just replicate both flags on my nails! On my index and middle nails is the American flag and on my ring and pinky is the Canadian flag!
To create this I painted all nails except my pinky with Sally Hansen White On, on my pinky I used China Glaze Vermillion. For the American flag, the blue portion was done with Essence Walk on Air by just freehanding with the polish brush on half of my nail. I used silver bullion beads to represent the stars on the flag and then freehanded on the red stripes with my It's So Easy Red Stripe Rite Striper. My stripers on my middle nail were done the same way and the half maple leaf was also done with my red striper!
Love this look! It's super easy and cute and it represents both sides of my boyfriends citizenship! I'll be rockin these nails all day today, even though I won't be celebrating anything, probably be in the lab doing homework lol! So at least my nails will be festive.
I hope all of my American friends are having a VERY happy Independence Day! What are you all up to today? I would love to hear any of your plans and if you are rocking any themed manis today :D
Have a spectacular day ladies and gents!
