The Digit-al Dozen Does Art: Picasso's Acrobat

Today is day four in The Digit-al Dozen's Art week and I have some nails Picasso nails to share with you. I really wanted to create some nail art inspired by Picasso and browsed through a gallery of his works. I had book marked about 5 different paintings and it took some time, but I finally settled on The Acrobat.

Here is the painting that these nails were inspired by,

Interesting huh? I thought the painting was very interesting, from what I read he wanted to convey movement but define it within the box of the painting and the stark colours.

These were relatively simple to do, I started with a base of Wet n Wild On a Trip and then did saran wrap with Tip Top Nails Crushed Grape. I then added a coat of top coat for a nice smooth nail art surface. I then took Sally Hansen Ion and a nail art brush from Winstonia Store and created the shapes of the figure. I decided to span him across two nails to give it a little more room and make him even more acrobat like. Then using the smallest brush from Winstonia Store I outlined the figure in black.

I really like some of Picasso's work and he is such a household name that I knew I needed to create something inspired by him! I actually really like how this came out too. My acrobat isn't an exact replica, but I like him anyway :) As always this week, here is my pinable image!

What do you think of my recreation of Picasso's Acrobat? Do you like any of his work?

Make sure you check out what the rest of the talented ladies in The Digit-al Dozen have come up with :)
