OPI Disney's Oz The Great and Powerful Swatches and Review

Gooood Morning ladies and gents! Today I am very excited to share with you some swatches from OPI's upcoming Disney's Oz The Great and Powerful Soft Shades Collection. I have three of the lacquers to share with you so let's get to it!

OPI I Theodora You

First up, I Theodora You. OPI describes this polish as, "This adorable, sheer pink is bewitching on you. I had to look it up, but Theodora is the name of the good witch! This pink is really soft and pretty, but it's nothing unusual that really stands out from the crowd. It is quite sheer and I had to use 4 coats here to get it to this opacity. It goes on really streaky, but will build up. I started doing thicker coats near the end, so if you do thin coats this might need 5. I'm not generally a fan of shades like these, but I can see this being used for jelly sandwiches and it being really popular with a lot of people.

OPI Which is Witch?

Next up is Which is Witch?. OPI describes this as, "Is this silver glitter with iridescent sparkle or the other way around?" This polish is awesome. I've shown it over a few polishes to showcase it's versatility, first being I Theodora You. All my swatches of Which is Witch? are one coat. There are two sizes of silver hexes, teeny bar (hair) glitters and smaller iridescent glitters.

Over the soft pink, Which is Witch? adds a holographic sparkle, but keeps it really soft, this would be work appropriate I think. Please note that this is even more insanely holographic in real life. My camera went nuts and didn't want to capture all the sparkle. Then I layered it over Nicole by OPI Deck the Dolls a teal metallic.

Still soooo much holo goodness that pictures just don't do justice to. So here's a blurred one. Hopefully this helps you realize that is you like holo glitters you need this in your life.

And finally I put it over a black creme.

OPI What Wizardry is This?
And after all that holo goodness we have What Wizardry is This? the gold liquid sand! It is a rich taupe that dries to the matte finish infused with reflective sparkle. This is just such a pretty colour. Unlike previous liquid sand lacquers there are no larger glitters in this one. Just small glitters that dry to that grainy finish.

And here it is with topcoat!

OPI What Wizardry is This?

I like it both ways, but I've been wearing it as accent nails in nail art for the past 2 days and I can't stop running my fingers over the texture. It is awesome!

What do you think of these polishes? I quite like What Wizardry is This? and Which is Witch? You can check out the rest of the lacquers in this collection in the press release here!

These polishes will be available in March wherever OPI products are sold. Will you be picking up any of these soft shades?

  3. LOVE these! I was a little worried these would be too similar to OPI Ballet, but they're clearly totally different. Gorgeous swatches.

  7. So far not feeling this collection at all - not into the liquid sand textures I have seen from this or the MC - they look like sandpaper to me and I have a HUGE aversion to sandpaper - cannot even use an emery board - only metal files and when they came out moved to glass ones. Been with this nemesis since I was a kid and did needed me to help and gave me the sanding job!

  12. I can see why they call the tiny bar glitter 'hair' glitter...it makes your nails look hairy lol. I do like it better than the larger bar glitter though.
