Horizontal and Vertical Lines

It's Friiiiiidaaay, Friiiiidaay gotta get lines on Friiiidaaaay! Ok I apologize that you all have that song stuck in your head, but I am STOKED that it's the weekend! This has been a hell of a long week and after this weekend, it is only going to get worse for me for the next little while. I've got exams, assignments, presentations and a ton of marking to get done in the next little while. So this weekend I am going to take it a little easier and only do a tad of homework. The other day I got this idea and it seemed so simple that I couldn't believe that I was the first to think of it. As far as I can research I haven't seen this look before! So here is a potentially new horizontal and vertical line mani!

This was super easy to do and very eye catching! All I did was start with a coat of a black creme, I think I used Wet n Wild Black Creme but I honestly don't remember. Then I grabbed some striping tape and placed 4 stripes across each nail. Then I used my Color Club Chrome Striper Set to create the chrome vertical stripes. Peel off the striping tape and ta da! You've got some wicked looking nails!

I think what I liked best about these nails was that they are so simple to do, yet seem so complex at the same time! It looks like there is a lot going on here, but really, as long as you have striping tape it can be done! :)

Nails with stripes are one of my favourite things to do. There are literally endless looks you can create with stripes! Plus they tend to be one of the easier forms of nail art to execute. Since this look involves only stripes I'm entering it in my best blogging buddy The Lacquerologists 6 Month Blogaversary Nail Art Contest! You can create any manicure as long as it falls under one of the themes of the Abstract Nail Art Challenge that we did last month. I would go enter because the prizes are pretty fab!

How do you like stripey nail art? Is this something you can see yourself creating?

Hope you are all having a simply wonderful Friday and a great weekend!

Reminder: Only a few days left to enter my Jamberry Nail Shield Giveaway!

  4. Love this Stephanie! And if you don't have striping tape you could always use a striper brush for the black over top of the coloured lines :) Great idea and beautiful manicure! :D Happy Friday to you too!
