save the ta-tas!

Today I would like to take a minute to talk about what else October represents besides the beginning of fall and Halloween. October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). It is also know as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) in the States. This month is a campaign devoted to raising awareness about Breast Cancer and to raise funds to help with research into treatments, cause, prevention, diagnosis and a cure. This is something that is really important to me and I want to take a minute to remind all you beautiful women out there to feel yourselves up every once in a while! Make sure that everything is 'OK' with the girls and if you do notice any abnormalities, please go get it looked at by a Doctor as soon as possible.

I chose to do a manicure inspired by the website Save The Ta-Tas! This website sells t-shirts and other paraphanilia related to breasts and promoting breast cancer. 5% of every sale goes towards breast cancer research and to this day they have donated over 1 million dollars to breast cancer research.

For my nails I chose to depict t-shirts spelling out "save the ta-tas" across my nails. I wanted these shirts to be on women so each nail is representative of a different women and her breasts. Yes all these ladies have some awesome cleavage going on here. They also all have necklaces because I felt like that area was a tad bare.

I did every "woman" of a different colour skintone because breast cancer doesn't choose based on colour. Absolutely anyone can be affected and I think it's important that all women take a stand and unite together to raise awareness against this disease.

On my thumb I drew a heart and wrote the work PINK above it because pink is the colour symbolizing breast cancer.

I used a lot of different polishes for these nails, so I'm not going to get into details about the various polishes, but if you have any questions about any colours feel free to ask in the comments!

So ladies, check out your ta-tas in the mirror and most importantly regularly touch them to make sure that you don't feel anything strange. Any sort of lump is worth getting checked out.

Together we can save the ta-tas!
