Shatter Mosaic

Crackle/Shatter polish has been around for over a year now and I think that most people in the polish community will agree that we are kind of over the trend. Sure crackle's are cool, but after awhile you get the seen one, you've seen them all kind of feel. I have a bunch of crackle/shatter polish in my drawers and most of them have gone unused for a very long time. I was stalking browsing through Gorgeois the other day, she's a genius btw, and saw a stunning shatter moasic she had created and knew I needed to do one myself!

This is extremely easy to create and I feel like the final outcome almost looks a little like brains! Which is awesome because it's around Halloween!

All you need to do it paint your nails any base colour, I used Wet n Wild Black Creme and then take your crackles and one nail at a time add small strokes of each colour until your nail is shatterified! I suggest one nail at a time because I find that crackle polishes especially get a little gloopy if you leave them open for a bit. The crackles that I used here are the whole China Glaze Crackle Metals Collection. Which I got on eBay back when I first started collecting. The collection includes,
Platinum Pieces (silver)
Oxizied Aqua (blue)
Latticed Lilac (purple)
Cracked Medallion (copper)
Haute Metal (pink)
Tarnished Gold (gold)

I loved the look of this, but had an itching feeling that I would love it even more matte. So I grabbed butter LONDON Matte Finish and added a coat over each nail.

Yup, matte this is even more cool! I love that when you make something matte that has either a foil or shimmer finish it takes on a whole new dimension and is just astoundingly cool!

Braaaaiiiinnnnnssss. I wasn't intending for this to be Halloween themed at all, but looking at my nails I can't get past the feeling that I'm looking at some weird multi-coloured brains here! What do you think? Do you see the brainy look?

What are your thoughts on crackle/shatter polishes? Over them? Still love them? Matte or shiny here? Let know!
Hope you're all having a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by loves!
