Olympic Fever

Good Morning loves! Who else has Olympic Fever? I absolutely love the Olympics and everything that comes with it. I will watch absolutely any sport, as I just love seeing the passion that these athletes have. I watched women's weightlifting and loved it. So I obviously needed to create some Olympic themed nails! I have seen some amazing Olympic manicures done by some insanely talented ladies and was looking for a way to make it a little original. I googled London 2012 Olympic symbols to look for some inspiration and this is what I came up with!

I think because of my Olympic fever I had a hard time narrowing down the pictures, so I didn't. To see more of this and my inspiration image, check out more after the jump!

Na na na na na na na na Batman!

Morning! So one of the many downsides to being in exams is that I can't participate in fun activities with my friends! On Monday my boyfriend and a few friends went and saw the new Batman movie. Without me. Nevermind that I'm an hour away at school. I was still wishing I was there. So once I was done with my studying for the night since all I could think about was Batman I decided to do some na na na na na na na na na na na na BATMAN nail art.
batman nail art

This kind of nail art was actually pretty simple. All I did was create a bit of a gradient on my index and pinky using Nailtini Espresso and NYC Sidewalkers. Then using a medium length striping brush I drew on the yellow oval in Cult Nails Feel Me Up and then using the same striping brush I drew the Batman symbol in Espresso! Easy peasy Batman nail art!

batman nail art
batman nail art

I honestly googled Batman symbol to have a guideline. I almost went with one of the newer symbols, but then decided you can't beat the iconic black and yellow Batman symbol! If it ain't broke don't fix it! I almost just left my thumb yellow, BUT then I remembered I had Daring Digits Batman in my drawers! Whipped that bad boy out added some glittaahh to the mani. Batman is gold and black (yesssss black glitter!) medium hex glitter with small gold and black hex glitter, plus gold holo glitter clear base. I didn't have a chance to take any sunlight photos, so just trust me that the holo is awesome.

I actually had a ton of friends grab my hand this week and be like "ERMAGAD YOU DID BATMAN NAILS!!" AND I wore these for the exam that I aced this Wednesday. Hmmm maybe I should do Iron Man nails for my next exam. Think that will help me ace it? Clearly the nails had a lot to do with it ;)

What do you think of my Batman nails? I know I'm not the first to do them, but they were hella fun!

Well it's back to studying for me! Hope you are all having a great Saturday! Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by! :D

Delicate Double Stamping

Good Afternoon loves! I figured it was time for a study break, so why not write a post?! This is the manicure that I wore last weekend for my 1 year anniversary :) I wanted something pretty and feminine that would be able to go with a few outfits that I would be wearing. One of my main sources for inspiration when it comes to stamping is the lovely Marta of ChitChat Nails. She always comes up with the most beautiful and feminine manicures! So I tried to, 'think like Marta' and this is what I came up with!

Jelly Gradient Sandwich Tutorial!

Gooooood Morning loves! Today I am very excited to present my Jelly Gradient Sandwich Tutorial and my YouTube debut!! You have seen the jelly gradient sandwich twice on my blog before, here and here. Each time being a different set of gradients. Well today I decided to create a blue to purple to pink jelly gradient sandwich!

jelly gradient sandwich nail art

I got a lot of comments on my past two jelly gradient sandwich posts so I figured it was time to make a tutorial for you all! Now before you watch, I have a lot I can improve upon. I know essentially nothing about videos, but iMovie tutorials helped me and here we have my very first tutorial! All things considered I think it's halfway decent for my first try :)

I'm hoping that I will improve with more practice and that my voice overs will eventually get better, so please bear with me while I try to figure out all this YouTube stuff! :)

Meanwhile if you would like you can subscribe to me YouTube Channel! :)

The polishes I used for this manicure are, Nailtini Espresso, Sally Hansen Glass Slipper,China Glaze Ride the Waves, China Glaze Under the Boardwalk and OPI Too Hot Pink to Hold Em. I'm not going to give a verbal explanation because that's what I made the video for! ;)

I hope you all enjoyed my first foray into creating tutorials! If there is anything else you would like to see a tutorial for, so I can practice, because I need it, let me know!

I would love to see if any of you attempt the Jelly Gradient Sandwich so keep up with me on Facebook and Twitter to show me! :D

A Polka Dotted Floam

Morning dears! Last night I found this post in my drafts and forgot I hadn't shown it to you yet! So enjoy some polka dotted floamy goodness!
Today I've got some nails featuring Floam!! Sometimes I get ideas just as I'm falling asleep for a mani and this was one of those ideas. How would Nubar Black and White Polka Dot look over Floam? So the next day I tried it out.

floam-nubar-black-and-white-polka-dots

I think this combination was better in my dreams but I think it still looks ok. I think I thought that the larger white polka dots would show up better than they did.

floam-nubar-black-and-white-polka-dots

I like all the little black glitter though! My thumb has to be my favourite nail here, probably because you can actually see the white glitter lol!

I love Floam and hope to think of more ways to wear it! As I'm typing this I actually thought of another way! It really is just a marvelous polish :)

How do you like my polka dotted Floam nails? Have you used Nubar Black and White Polka Dot? What have you done with it?

These nails have SO MUCH GLITTTTEEEEERRRRR!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day :)

Jelly Gradient Sandwich Take Two

Gooood Morning lovelies! It's a Monday, bleeeeh, but today starts my exam period at school. First exam is this afternoon and then in less than two weeks I am done my semester! So I'm going to let you all know that posting might be a little sporadic in these next few weeks. Gotta study for those pesky exams! A few weeks back I posted what I called a Jelly Gradient Sandwich. This was one of my favourite manicures I had done in a while so I decided to redo it using a different colour scheme! At the end of my previous post I talked about doing a gradient in yellow, green and blue. I didn't *think* I owned a yellow or green jelly, but upon further inspection of my stash I found some!

I couldn't decide what pictures to narrow it down to, so I'm just posting all of them! Keep reading after the jump to see how I did this!

Darling Diva Ringer

Happy Saturday my lacquered lovelies!! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend :) A while back I won a giveaway from the fabulous Crystal of Crystal's Crazy Combos. In the amazing package I received some fabulous goodies including Darling Diva Ringer! Which is a dupe for Clarins 230 and Max Factor Fantasy Fire. Now I don't have either of these so I can't compare, but I have been lemming these like a madwoman! When Ringer first appeared I wanted to buy it, however at the time she was only shipping within the US. Now I believe she ships worldwide!

Darling Diva Polish Ringer

Darling Diva Polish Ringer
Darling Diva Polish Ringer

HOLY GORGEOUSNESS! I knew that this was the first one in the package I wanted to use. For this I layered it over 2 coats of Orly Royal Navy without shaking. Royal navy is a beautiful cobalt blue with a aqua shimmer, however if you let it sit all the shimmer sinks to the bottom and it is a perfect cobalt jelly. Ringer applied flawlessly and immediately I could see a gorgeous colour shift. Check out the green shift in the pic below!
Darling Diva Polish Ringer
Doesn't it look like it's glowing?!!?! This polish got me so distracted. I kept staring at it in the sun. I would be walking and just looking at my hands. Pretty sure people were staring at me. But I'm ok with that for this lovely polish.
Darling Diva Polish Ringer

I couldn't decide which pictures to include so I just included a lot. :D

Do you have any of these colour shifting type polishes? Are you are crazy about it as I am?

I need to thank Crystal once more for her awesome giveaway and for this beauty!

I hope you are all having a great Saturday! Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by!!!

Like a Princess

Gooooood Morning lovelies! How are you all doing this Friday morning? I am hopefully fabulous. I'm scheduling this post in advance. Today is my one year anniversary! :D We've got a very romantic day and evening planned and I am very much looking forward to it. My boy always tells me that I'm his princess so I did some princess inspired nails for you today. :)

nail the bytch caught in candy

nail the bytch caught in candy
I've been seeing quite a few manis around that incorporate some nude nail. So I decided to go with that theme. I did a base coat of my favourite Essie Grow Faster and then used reinforcements to create a half moon. I did two coats of Nail the B.Y.T.C.H. Caught in Candy and removed the reinforcements, which left me with a nude half moon. Caught in Candy is a little brushstrokey, but it isn't a complete frost. I really love this blue. Then I took some iridescent loose glitter from Born Pretty Store and with a dotting tool placed the glitter in the half moon. One coat of NYC Top Coat and I was feeling like a princess.

nail the bytch caught in candy
nail the bytch caught in candy
nail the bytch caught in candy

These were very simple and to do and literally took me 20 minutes to finish both hands. Exactly the kind of mani that I need while in these last few weeks of school. :)

Nail the B.Y.T.C.H. polishes can be found here for a mere $6.00 a polish! AND my Canadian friends they have started shipping to CANADA! How exciting is that!? So all of you should scoot over here and pick up a few. ;)

I love playing with loose glitter. Have you ever incorporated loose glitter into a mani? Is this something you would spend time doing?

I hope you are all having a fabulous day!! I will talk to all of you lacquered lovelies tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by! :D

Blue Green Studded Camo

Today I've got some random nails that I did last week late when I was done studying for the night. Not sure where the idea for these came from, I just kind of started dotting and ended up with some camo like nails!

camo nail art

To get this look I started off with a coat of Essence Lime Up! which is a murky lime green that I showed a swatch of here. Then I started dotting on in no particular pattern using, China Glaze Ride the Waves, China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard, Orly Luxe, Essence Let's Get Lost, Princess Polish Blueberry Jam and Princess Polish Mint Jelly. I was digging the camo look, especially once I had added Blueberry Jam and Mint Jelly. These are holographic jellies! And they added just that extra kick I was looking for. Then to up the camo factor I grabbed my It's So Easy Stripe Rite Striper in Black and swiped some lines back and forth. Finally I added four studs from Born Pretty Store! One coat of NYC In a Minute Top Coat and I was done :)

camo nail art

I thoroughly enjoyed wearing these nails. The holo jelly was a super cute addition and I'm glad I added it!
camo nail art

I wore these nails for about four days, which is extremely excessive for me. I really did love them! I should have gotten a sun picture, but I didn't have a chance.

What do you think of my camo studded nails!? Like them? or is this a little too much for you?

I'm going home today! I'm super excited. I've been working like a dog getting all my assignments done and am officially done everything except for studying for my exams! Woooo! Tomorrow is my one year anniversary with my boyfriend so we will be doing something special :) I'm very excited!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by! :D

We're Painting the Roses Red

Morning! Today I've got some simple stamping to share with you. School has been slightly kicking me these past few days so this is going to be a quick post.

cult nails evil queen bundle monster nail art

To get this look I started off with 2 coats of Cult Nails Evil Queen from the recent Fairytale Collection. This is such a perfect red. I'm in love with it. Then I stamped using BM-322 and Billie Gold which I picked up from The Dollar Tree.

I'm really digging these new Bundle Monster plates. They are awesome and perfect for someone who is brand new to stamping like myself. I went with this image because when I put on Evil Queen I immediately thought of The Queen of Hearts in Alice and Wonderland! So that's where the explanation of the title came from :)

Simple, eyecatching and just lovely in my opinion. I'm really loving the Fairytale collection from Cult Nails and am glad that I decided to pick them up!

How do you like my stamped roses? What images have you been reaching for from the BM plates?

Hope you're all having a wonderful day! Back to the grindstone for me :)

Lacquistry Golf Socks

Today I've got an awesome indie polish that I have had for months! But just never got around to posting. I know I'm so bad. Let's just jump right in and take a look at the beauty, this is Lacquistry Golf Socks.

lacquistry golf socks

This is so pretty. Why oh why didn't I pull this one out earlier! For this swatch I have layered it over Cult Nails Feelin' Froggy from the Fairytale Collection that debuted earlier this year. Golf Socks is a deep navy blue jelly base with small copper and royal blue hex glitter, large gold and blue hex glitter, and medium sized gold holographic glitter. I used a coat and a half for this swatch. One coat had the smaller glitter in place, and I placed some of the larger hex glitters where I wanted.

lacquistry golf socks
lacquistry golf socks

I absolutely love this layered over Feelin' Froggy. Golf Socks could easily be opaque on its own in 2+ coats as the jelly base is so dark. What really makes this polish unique to me is the intense glitter combination. The copper and blue micro glitter is beautiful and the dark blue jelly base buries some of the larger hex glitter within your layers for an instant jelly sandwich with impeccable depth. Check out the macro shot below to see what I'm talking about.

lacquistry golf socks

Do you seeeeee that large hex glitter with some micro glitter suspended over it?! Is that not stunning?!

I need a slap on the wrist for not wearing this earlier. Seriously. It's beautiful. I purchased Golf Socks from Jenna's Etsy shop for $7.50 for a full 15mL bottle back in March. I know Jenna is currently completing custom orders and then will have her shop open. I would like her on Facebook to stay up to date on all the latest Lacquistry news!

What do you think of Golf Socks? Do you own any Lacquistry polishes?

Hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by! :D

I Needed Some Edge

Even though it's summer occasionally I feel the need for something a little edgier. All these neons are amazing, but they got me craving something black on my nails. So I decided to whip out my new Bundle Monster plates and have some fun.

bundle monster gold and black nail art
To get this look all I did was start with a coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme on all my nails. Then I grabbed Icing Golden Age of Glitter and did a coat of over Black Creme on all nails except my ring finger. This is a really interesting polish. It's filled with gold and black micro glitter. It would look awesome over a beige creme. The black glitter would really shine through. Also black glitter is just awesome. Then I stamped using BM-301 and Black Creme. On my ring finger I just added two rows of gold studs from Born Pretty Store.

bundle monster gold and black nail art
bundle monster gold and black nail art

Easy, simple mani and it was gold glittery goodness (see the aliteration there? ok I'm a nerd). This was my first time stamping over glitter and I was a little scared because I had heard horror stories from other ladies. I wish the stamp was a little more opaque, would using a different black polish help with that? Any of you stamping gurus out there know?

bundle monster gold and black nail art
bundle monster gold and black nail art

I'm really starting to love my stamped manicures. Especially now with being so busy in school, I can still have great looking nails in half the time of a freehand manicure! Also stamping lets me have some looks that I would never be able to freehand! It's really awesome.

I hope you are all having a fabulous Monday! Aaaaaannd if not then I hope it is over quickly :) Thanks so much for stopping by and remember to enter my Jamberry Nails Giveaway! It closes TONIGHT!
