GO JAYS GO!
Morning folks! For those that know me I am a HUGE Blue Jays fan! (that's Canada's only baseball team in case you were wondering) I have been a Blue Jays fan for as long as I can remember. My dad tells some pretty funny stories about taking me to games when I was little and all I did was stand on my seat and yell and cheer. Oh also 5 year old me once turned around to some business men sitting behind us and said "You guys sure drink a lot of beer." Apparently they weren't too thrilled with me lol.
Anyway this past Saturday I went to my first game of the season with my boyfriend! I obviously needed to do some appropriately themed nail art!
I'm stupidly incredibly proud of this so there are a lot of pictures! Keep reading after the jump to find out how I did this and see some pictures of me at the game!!
To get this I started off by painting my thumb, index and pinky with two coats of Essie's Mesmerize and my middle and ring fingers with China Glaze White on White. Then I pulled up a picture of the Blue Jays new logo and got to work. This is what I used (photo courtesy of Google Images)
I started by creating the outline of the baseball with my red Stripe Rite striper. Then I took a small nail art brush and created the outline of the Blue Jay in Mesmerize. Then I went back with WOW and my small brush and created the white inside of the Jay. Then I went back with my red striper and drew the Maple Leaf, then I outlined it in white along the left side so that it matched the logo. I added the eye with a dotting tool and then finally went back with my red striper to add the stitches on the baseball.
Then I went back on my index and pinky and using a small brush and WOW added BLUE JAYS. Finally I took Essence's Nude It! and added the bat on my thumb, then used WOW to add the ball. Took my red striper and added the stitching and the grips on the ball and bat.
I got so many compliments on this it was ridiculous. We went to buy a beer at the game and the girl checking my ID got so distracted because she was like WOAH did you do those?! Then she had everyone working behind the counter come take a look at them. Thank goodness there was no line up yet! lol Then when I was getting Starbucks the next day essentially the same thing happened while I was paying.
I think this is the best freehand work I've ever done. I honestly kept looking down at my nails the whole time it was on and didn't want to take it off!
Also the game was so much fun! The Blue Jays lost, but it was a great game and I had an amazing time.
This was me and my boyfriend on the train headed there.
Then I took about 40 pictures before the game had started and he was starting to get a little annoyed with me, but I had to get one with my nails!
Also I don't have weird shaped wrists, I swear that is just the angle of the picture!
We took this picture too, which I just thought was so cool.
What do you think of my Blue Jays nail art!? Do you love baseball too?
Sincerely Stephanie

DeleteThis is super cool! If the Blue Jays are Canada's only team, who do they play? (I'm not an expert at baseball!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Amaris! They play in the MLB with all the other professional teams, just the rest of the teams in the league are based in the States :)
