China Glaze Hologlam Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Gooooood Afternoon! I need a study break, so what better to do than write up a post for all you lovely people?! I have had these China Glaze Hologlam polishes sitting on my desk for awhile, but they got to me right after I hurt myself when swatching was out of the question for awhile. I have finally been able to catch up and get these beauties swatched so let's get into these holographic babies!

I have a ton of photos so check these out after the jump!

For all these swatches I have done them on my bare nail. I don't own an aqua fix base coat and my nails are in pretty good shape at the moment! You can buff your nail to remove any ridges that may show up otherwise. As well none of these show topcoat. The holographic effect is slightly dulled when you first add top coat and since these were taking me long enough I decided not to topcoat and have to wait for the holographic shine to come back.

These photos are taken underneath my pure white light lamp that I use for all my photos, which is direct lighting. Being on crutches it is impossible for me to take pictures outside so I did my best considering my current situation!

The formula was the same on all of these so I will make a comment on that near the end of my post. All swatches are two coats.

China Glaze Cosmic Dust

China Glaze Cosmic Dust is a dusty silver holographic. There are a lot of silver holos out there and this was nothing extraordinary in my books. It seemed to lean a little blue/green on me at times.

China Glaze Don't Be A Luna-tic is a pale aqua, sea foam green shade that is pretty, but a little to pale for my tastes. When I was originally swatching them it seemed extremely close to a silver in real life.

China Glaze Not In This Galaxy

China Glaze Not In This Galaxy is a warm coral and I'm totally digging this one! It is really unique from a lot of other holographic shades out there and one of my favourites from this collection.

China Glaze Astro-Hot

China Glaze Astro-Hot is a light purple that slightly leans pink. I think this will look really pretty on a variety of skin tones!

China Glaze OMG a UFO

China Glaze OMG a UFO is a mossy olive green that is a total rockstar of a polish! This is totally unique and had a really strong holographic finish. Loving this one.

China Glaze Strap on Your MoonbootsChina Glaze Strap on Your MoonbootsChina Glaze Strap on Your Moonboots

China Glaze Strap on Your Moonboots is a deep navy blue that is another total favourite! I love how rich this colour is and that it still retains an awesome holographic effect.

The formula on all of these was great and they all only needed two coats for full coverage. I didn't experience any patchiness of bald spots that some people normally can have with holographic lacquers.

I know many people are upset that these aren't crazy linear holographics that are lighting up with rainbows in the dark, but I am rather pleased with the holographic look. It is a quieter holo, but really pretty none the less.

Overall I'm quite pleased with the China Glaze Hologlam polishes that I got to play with. My top picks are, OMG a UFO, Strap on Your Moonboots and Not In This Galaxy.

Due to the increase in cost of the materials required to create the Hologlam polishes these have a suggested retail price of $14. The China Glaze Hologlam Collection is available now anywhere China Glaze polishes are sold. I personally have not been out of the house much, but I assume these are available at Sally Beauty as well as online etailers. If you are looking for a little bit of a discount, Nail Polish Canada is selling the Hologlam collection for $12.75!

What do you think of the China Glaze Hologlam Collection? Have you picked any of these up?
