The Digit-al Dozen September Spectacular: Music

Press Sample Purchased by Me

Afternoon loves!

Today's Digit-al Dozen September Spectacular post is based on Music! When I was brainstorming for this I was chatting with my roommate about what I could do and she suggested that I do nails inspired by Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines!

At first I was just going to do a bunch of blurred lines in random colours, but then I checked out the single's cover and decided to follow that colour scheme of red, white and black. I used OPI My Vampire is Buff as my base and then used China Glaze Igniting Love and Wet n Wild Black Creme. I started by taping off the top and bottom of my nail to get clean lines on the top and bottom. Then I went back in with my striping brush and blurred lines in red and black again!

On my thumb my roommate suggested that I do #THICKE So when I checked out this image I decided to recreate it in my own way. I started with MVIB and then freehanded on figures dancing in black creme. Then I attempted to write #THICKE on top of it. It didn't come out perfectly, but I still like it!

I love Blurred Lines, I think it's such a fun catchy song and it for sure is the anthem of Summer 2013! I've been told not to watch the video though so it isn't ruined for me lol. I have to give another shout out to Kristen for coming up with the inspiration! What do you think of my blurred lines nails?!

Remember to check out the rest of The Digit-al Dozen's Music nails below! Hope you're having a great Wednesday!

    1. It's many folks song for the summer this yr...There have only been maybe 1 or 2 others that were as catchy and repeatable as this one was this summer..plus the visual of the Youtube vid did not hurt it (esp first version that is gone now)...last summer we had 2 - the Phil Phillips that was used for the theme for the London Olympics (and he sang for his won on Am. Idol the yr before and the Call Me Maybe song.

  4. Very cool! This is one that fits the theme, fits the transitional season, & also would be one for me I could wear longer than 1 day which much of the nail art I tired of if I wear it more than 1 day and I want it off or changed out a bit. Seems like the manis I want to have last don't and the ones I don't care if they last or don't want them to last because they are too theme or only for that outfit or event...those are the ones that last and last!
