Afternoon lacquer lovers!
Today's Digit-al Dozen September Spectacular post is all about Festiveness! This theme was originally last December, so when most of the girls did it, they did Christmas themed nails! BUUT since it is only September I was trying to stretch the theme outside of the Christmas Holiday season I tried to think of Festiveness in a new light, and I came up with Birthdays!
There were a lot of steps to this manicure! More than I thought when I originally started out! So I'm going to do my best to describe all of them for you lovely ladies and gents out there :) First here is my inspiration picture,
I started out with one coat of Cult Nails Tempest to give everything a clean white background. Then I went in with my striping brush and created the rainbow as the background of my nails. In order the polishes I used were:
Sally Hansen Rapid Red
Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights
Essie Pretty Edgy
China Glaze Sunday Funday
China Glaze Creative Fantasy
Then I went over this background with a coat of Essie Marshmallow a white jelly to mute the colours a little.
Then I took a medium sized nail art brush and went back in with Cult Nails Tempest to create the white cake at the tip of my nail. Then I started creating the candles and adding the stripes to them, For the candles and the stripes I used:
Sally Hansen Green With Envy
Nailtini Parfair Armour
Nailtini Blue Carnation
NCLA Tennis Anyone?
Revlon Sorbet
Essie Pretty Edgy
China Glaze Creative Fantasy
China Glaze Sunday Funday
Sally Hansen Rapid Red
Once the candles were completed I added the wick in black creme and then mixed Marshmallow and Tempest for the flame. I added a little stripe of OPI Jinx to make it look like it was burning! I also added some sprinkles on the cake to finish it off!
These took way longer than I thought, but I am really happy with the final outcome! They are pretty bright and fun and I think they fit the festiveness theme pretty well!
I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of the Digit-al Dozen has come up with! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
