Afternoon my friends!
We are winding down with the Digit-al Dozen September Spectacular posts with only 3 days remaining! I'm going to do a quick reminder up front for anyone that has not entered our amazing $200 giveaway yet! ENTER HERE!
I was really excited for recreating Book Week because back in June unfortunately my internet was cut out for the last 2 days of this week and I didn't get a chance to finish, so this was my chance to come up with some new designs. I was chatting with my roommate about our favourite childhood books and we both absolutely loved Purple, Green and Yellow by Robert Munsch!
For those of you that don't know this book is it all about a little girl who loves colouring with her magic markers and eventually ends up using permanent markers all over herself and has to use a magic marker to erase it and erases her whole body! It is a really cute story and I have a copy back home somewhere! Here is the book cover and the image I used for these nails.
I started off with Cult Nails Tempest on all my nails and then began working on the little girls face. Her skin tone is Joe Fresh Caramel mixed with Tempest. Her headband is China Glaze Escaping Reality and her shirt is China Glaze Sunday Funday.
For the hands, I used the same mixture as her skin for the outline and then coloured in sections based on the above image. For the red I used Sally Hansen Rapid Red, the green is Essie Pretty Edgy and the yellow is Cult Nails Feel Me Up. All the outlines and her hair were done in Wet n Wild Black Creme.
I love this book and I'm super pleased with how my nail art came out!! What are your thoughts on these nails?! Have you ever read Purple, Green and Yellow?
