The Digit-al Dozen September Spectacular: Tape

Press Sample Purchased by Me

Good Afternoon my friends!

I hope you are having a great Friday! I am back for another Digit-al Dozen September Spectacular post, with this time recreating Tape Week! I have to say I am not a fan of tape manicures, only because they are a pain in the butt to try and get right! I even have a little mistake on this one, but I'm willing to let it slide because I love the final look :D In the original tape week in July Emma of Manicurity posted this stunningly amazing manicure and I knew that I had to do my own version of it for this day!

I absolutely love this look! It was time intensive and a huge pain, but the final outcome was totally worth it in my opinion! For this manicure I started out with China Glaze Highlight of My Summer and then using the polish brush of the following polishes I wiped off essentially all the polish and then did random brushstrokes to create a really neat effect! The polishes used for this were, China Glaze Sun of a Peach, China Glaze Bottoms Up, China Glaze Are You Jelly? and China Glaze Shell-O. Here is what the base looked like before I added tape.

I added a coat of Seche Vite and then waited for about 25 minutes to be sure it was 100% dry before I started applying striping tape. I first put three pieces of tape horizontally and then three pieces diagonally both ways, so a total of nine pieces of tape on each nail! I then applied Color Club Beyond a stunning black holographic

I absolutely adored this when Emma did it the first time, and I am so happy I recreated it! I hope you are all having a great Friday and be sure to check out the rest of the Digit-al Dozen's tape manicures below!

  5. EPIC! I looooveeee these!! I think your base colors look so pretty, and compliment the complicated triangles so well :D The base technique should've been a post by itself because it is NICE lol
