A Different Kind of Post

Hey everyone, this is not a nail polish related post, but instead a life post. Today with my family we had to put down our 14 year old Golden Retriever, Lacey.

She had been suffering with bone cancer and it had come time, but she was so full of life and love right up until the very end.

She was an incredible dog, hardly ever did anything wrong and was always there to cheer you up and knew when you needed her. We have many memories over the past 14 years with her and I will be keeping those close to my heart over the next week days and weeks.

I will still be trying to keep up with the challenge through the end, but if I am late or miss a day I apologize in advance and hope you all understand.

RIP Lacey. I'll always love you <3

  1. I'm so sorry for your loss Stephanie. I lost my little poodle Chico in May this year and it is a horrible thing to go through, but you will stop feeling quite so sad in time, I promise :) x

  4. So sorry for your loss Stephanie! I know what you're going through, we had to make the same call with our family dog back in 2008 and it was the worst feeling :( The vet wasn't 100% sure whether she had a virus she caught from a wild animal (we live in the country and have a lot of wildlife around) or if she had some form of cancer. The worst part was not knowing the cause and that we had only had her with us for 8 years :'(
Sending happy thoughts your way, it's the happy memories you have to keep close to your heart! *hugs*

  12. {hugs} to you. Lacey was a very beautiful girl. I can see how much you loved and cared for her and I'm sure she knew that, too. I lost my 12 year old Lab mix to cancer almost 7 years ago. It was so hard. I have a sweet and wonderful yellow Lab named Dixie but it took me a long time to stop missing Tasha enough to let another dog into my heart. I still miss her.

  20. My thoughts are with you and your family Stephanie, i am dreading if and when this day ever comes for my pooch and I have to make the most difficult decision. At least Lacey is at peace and in no more pain. X

  21. We put down our 14 year old yellow lab in August of this year, he had kidney failure and cancer throughout his body. It was the right decision because we knew Tanner was hurting, but that didn't make it any easier. I slept with his collar on my pillow that night...we had good memories with him and I will always cherish them. I hope you find peace in knowing that Lacey is running around in dog heaven doing everything she wasn't able to in the past few years and she will greet you when you arrive there too.
